The programmer/analyst will support the activities of the i2b2 (Informatics for Integrating Biology and the Bedside) program. i2b2 is an NIH-funded National Center for Biomedical Computing developing a scalable informatics framework for integrating clinical and genomic data in order to facilitate the design of individualized therapies for diseases having a genetic origin. The i2b2 framework is a java centric, open source environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Minimum 2 years of solid Java/J2EE programming experience including JBOS, Servlets, JSP, hibernate, etc.
- Development experience with XML technologies, SOAP, REST, JAXB, Web Services and Web applications
- Development experience with JMS
- Minimum 1 year’s experience working on *NIX platform required
- Minimum 2 years of experience of designing and developing with RDBMS systems. Experience with Oracle and SWL Server preferred
- Experience with Eclipse IDE
- Experience with CVS/SVN or similar source control system is highly desirable
- Knowledge of molecular biology and/or bioinformatics a distinct advantage
- Experience with maven, Junit, Apache & PHP will be considered a significant positive
- Experience in working with PL/SQL, packages, procedures and functions will be considered a significant positive
